Tuesday Lunch Workout

The Workout:

1.5 miles jog 7:30 pace
2 x 20 push-ups
2 x 20 back extensions
2 x 20 dips
1 x 20 sit-ups
2 x 10 pull-ups
1.5 miles walk/slow jog

Tuesday, the weather was in the 70s here in Asheville and I decided to work out over lunch. I ran down to the UNCA workout trail and did one lap of "NS Week 1" exercises. Shortly into my second lap I was hurting something awful. My world was spinning, I was slightly hyperventilating and felt extremely naucious. I bagged the remainder of the workout and walked about 1/4 mile back towards town before starting jogging again. I felt a little better by the time I got to the bridge and gave a bit of a kick up to the St. Lawrence Bascillica Church.

Not much to say here except that I need to keep doing maintenance workouts to stay in shape or I will loose it all...

Saturday Ride at Montreat

The Workout:

2.5 hour mtn bike ride
at Montreat

Saturday morning Paul and I headed up to Montreat. We parked at the Rainbow parking lot and rode up to the old Toll road on Rainbow trail. Halfway up, Paul started feeling bad and had to stop twice to try and hurl. A few minutes later I flatted my front tire. We had planned to ride out the toll road and hike up one of the knobs between Pott's Cove and Pinacle. He was feeling bad and we were running short on time so we decided to poach Trestle trail. It is a hiking only trail but a much more direct route back to the car. We did pass some friendly hikers and no one gave us a hard time. Before heading back down off the ridge, we left the bikes and hiked up to the top of Lookout Knob. The view of Montreat and Black Mountain were great. It felt good to get back on my bike again although I decided to finally upgrade to a full suspension bike. The search begins...

Quick Stair WORKout

The Workout:

Up and down the Grove Arcade stairs
(5 floors) 5 laps.

After programming a survey all day, I was going a bit crazy but didn't have time for a propper run. I took 15 minutes and slipped into the stairwell by our office. On the way up, I alternated between one and two stairs at a time on each lap.
